FBC Choir

We have a small, but very talented choir. Choir membership is limited to singers, high school age through senior adult. Although choir membership is voluntary, choir members are encouraged to rehearse together once a week in order to prepare for Sunday morning. Our choir also provides powerful backup for our worship leader during corporate worship.
Much like the worship repertoire, the FBC choir repertoire employs traditional music, Southern Gospel selection, and familiar Contemporary songs. Exclusive use of “ready to sing” arrangements assures that rehearsals will be easy, and that the music will be completely singable – – usually within two rehearsals. We believe that choir membership is a service to God and a powerful vehicle in supporting the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it is preached from the pulpit.
Individuals wishing to join the choir may ask the Music Minister/Choir Director, or any choir member.

FBC Music Ministry

Because of the diversity of our church family, music at First Baptist Church is an equal blend of traditional church hymns, choruses and Gospel songs, and familiar Contemporary anthems, songs, and choruses. Rather than try to create a worship “experience” worship leaders strive to prepare hearts and minds for the preaching of God’s Word.
Music is selected after careful examination to ensure that it is scriptural, that its doctrine corresponds with the Bible, and that it is not overly-secularized.
Our church family enjoys singing, and our worship services are inspiring and uplifting.
Worship services are regularly punctuated with anthems, and special music from our choir, as well as talented soloists, duets, trios, and quartets.
As an added benefit for our church family and our guests, we frequently host Gospel concerts by some of America’s leading touring music ministries.
If God has blessed you with musical talent there is surely a way for your talent to be used at First Baptist Church. . . even if it’s just making a “joyful noise” as part of the congregation!
